Hiking for Nepal Youth Foundation

27 September 2016

Silver Heritage co-Founders Mike Bolsover and Tim Shepherd spent Saturday September 3rd on Lantau Island in Hong Kong hiking the famous Tiger’s Head for charity together with their families and other participants. The charity is the Nepal Youth Foundation, blossoming out of Olga’s Promise, a charitable enterprise founded over 30 years ago by the indomitable Olga Murray, still actively helping Nepali children and women at 91 years young.

SVH funding to Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC)

20 September 2016

Silver Heritage has donated funds to assist the nonprofit Angkor Hospital for Children’s (AHC) in Siem Riep, Cambodia.
AHC NGO treats 500-600 children a day at no cost, and has gradually improved its facilities to create a sustainable, replicable healthcare model that provides high quality, compassionate care to all, with help from funding.
The hospital relies 100% on sponsors to ensure the hospital can function effectively and continue to conduct more than 180,000 treatments each year.

Possible delivers free, high-quality healthcare to underserved communities in Nepal within the government’s infrastructure. Silver Heritage partnered with Possible by providing financial support to rebuild health clinics damaged in the 2015 earthquake and serve the community’s quickly growing patient base. Possible’s doctors currently serve over 700 patients each day.

Bykota House

Silver Heritage donated funds to assist Bykota House, a safe home for orphaned and abandoned children in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. The funds enabled Bykota House to purchase a much-needed commercial grade stove which is used to prepare meals as well as bake cakes for the children’s birthday celebrations. Bykota House is a project of International Orphan Aid.

New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC)

NHCC, founded in 2006, assists Cambodian children and families living with HIV/AIDs. The organisation focuses on the provision of home-based support, along with the provision of full-time holistic care to orphans and abandoned children with HIV/AIDS who live in a residential facility known as ‘Our Village’. Silver Heritage donated school desks for NHCC’s classrooms, giving the children somewhere to sit while studying.

Cambodian Water Festival tragedy

When tragedy struck at the Cambodian Water Festival in November 2010, Silver Heritage was quick to respond. The company donated funds to assist victims following a stampede which occurred on a bridge at the end of the three-day Water Festival, claiming the lives of 347, and injuring upwards of 755 more, some seriously.

Thailand and Vietnam

Ho Chi Minh to Bangkok charity bike Ride

Bangers on Bikes – Silver Heritage has supported a charity bike ride, the Bangers on Bikes Charity Ride, which involved cyclists travelling from Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Bangkok.   The riders raise funds for three charities:

  • Asia Center Foundation – an organisation dedicated to helping disadvantaged children and children-at-risk by providing care, training and education
  • the Nak Suu Tigers Rugby Academy – helping children in some of the poorest areas of Bangkok, and
  • Operation Smile Vietnam – part of a global alliance dedicated to providing free treatment to children and adults suffering from cleft lips and cleft palates.

Laos

Funds for food supplies to flood victims

In the aftermath of catastrophic flooding in Savannakhet province in southern Laos, Silver Heritage stepped in to assist, donating funds to purchase much-needed food supplies for flood victims.

Lao Rugby

Silver Heritage is also a long-term supporter of the development of rugby in Laos, sponsoring the Lao Nagas rugby team to enable them to compete at a major tournament held in Hong Kong.

Supporter of Macau Business Charity Golf Tournament

Silver Heritage has been a long-term supporter of the Macau Business Charity Golf Tournament, an annual event which has raised more than 2.8 million Macau Pataca (in excess of AUD $400,000) over the past seven years. A number of charities and non-profit organisations have benefitted from this event, many of them providing services to underprivileged children in the region.
